With over 20 years experience as an Osteopath and Naturopath and over 15 years experience in Acupuncture, I maintain that the body has the ability to try and heal itself if properly cared for and believe in a relaxed approach to my treatments.
I first became interested in Osteopathy when I was 13, after mum hurt her back and she found that Osteopathic Treatment helped her feel better. I graduated in London from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine(BCOM) in 1991 after a four year full time training and returned home to Scotland. After 5 years working at a clinic in Troon treating a wide variety of people and qualifying as an Acupuncturist from the British College Of Acupuncture, in 1996, I took the opportunity to study further in a hospital in China.
In China my time was spent working and observing in the Orthopaedic and Acupuncture departments in a hospital linked to the Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This was then followed by a backpacking adventure around China and New Zealand before returning to Scotland in 1998 after a very interesting and educational few months.
Since 1998 I have been working in the outpatient department of the BMI Carrick Glen Hospital, in Ayr treating a variety of different patients. I am also working in Edinburgh’s City Centre at The Whole Works, a multidisciplinary clinic, near Waverly station.
I enjoy treating people of all ages (the youngest being 5 and the oldest 92).
